A DANIEL COMES TO JUDGE

Sitting thinking,
Sick of talking,
Just watching the world go by… It seems…
These thoughts weigh heavy,
Then an epiphany!
My god I think I've seen the light,
With each step forward,
There's someone near,
Who comes to knee me.. In.. The.. groin,
And on close inspection,
it's always you,

Our care-free first date to,
"Do you really need mates?",
That seems a thousand years ago,
A daily routine,
That can't be altered,
No matter however hard I try,

Your needing money,
You need me home,
Now you need me out.. The.. House.. again,
Need help with shopping,
The bins need emptying,
And don't forget to pick the towels up off the floor,
But when I ask you something,
You don't answer,
Like (I'm) a Jehovah Witness at the door,
(So I'm going out)

You didn't see me,
Now you look right thru me,
It's not quite what I had in mind,
Here comes a Daniel, come to help me,
He has the key to everything,

You didn't see me,
Now you look right thru me,
It's not quite what I had in mind,
Here comes a Daniel, Has he come to save me?
Or better yet, come to take you off my hands?

From teenage play-mates,
To virtual cell-mates,
That seems a thousand years ago,
A daily routine,
Friday night with a Chow-Mein,
Complimented with vague acknowledgments,
Turn off the telly,
Have you seen the size of your belly?
Have you anything positive to say?

You need to get out, and earn some more,
Now I never see you, and can't bear to be with you,
(Well thanks for that…)

I wish I was him,
I wish I was Daniel,
He seems to know, like a Superman,
Every situation,
Has a solution,
As a Daniel come to judge…
